Check the status, then identify the next step
Enter the MRN from your declaration and select export or transit. This tool reads available information from the European Commission’s public follow-up service and adds plain-language explanations. The time of your lookup is not the time of the source’s last update.
Export and transit follow different procedures. An exit status does not establish that you received a proof-of-exit document. Arrival of a T1 movement is also distinct from discharge of the transit procedure. If the public record is incomplete, ask the declarant to check the national system.
Frequently asked questions
What is an MRN?
An MRN is an 18-character customs reference number. Copy it from the declaration or the declarant’s message. The country prefix alone does not identify the customs procedure or the port.
Where does the status information come from?
The European Commission’s public MRN follow-up service. The information is indicative and coverage may be limited. A response retrieved now can contain older source data; the relevant customs administration can clarify a particular case.
Does an exit status prove that a document was issued?
No. The public status does not establish that a particular confirmation file was issued or received. Ask the declarant for the actual document from the system used to lodge the declaration.
Is CC599C the final document for T1 transit?
No. T1 transit is handled through NCTS and has its own completion and discharge process. CC599C is a message used in Poland’s AES/ECS2 PLUS export system; national document names and message codes should not be assumed to be identical across countries.
What does MRN not found mean?
Check the number, the selected procedure and the availability of the source. No public result does not by itself mean the MRN is invalid, the goods have not exited or a confirmation document does not exist.
Can I use a screenshot as my export confirmation?
This public tool provides status information, not a customs document. Request the relevant file from the declarant. Any assessment of evidence or tax treatment depends on the actual document and circumstances.
What if the status never moves?
If the reason for an open export remains unclear after checking the documents, CloseMRN can assess the case and explain possible next steps. Further action depends on the actual movement, available data and applicable procedure.
